Dr. Weaver is a board certified family physician and integrative medicine doctor.
She has been practicing in Fairfax County since 2002. She has received Consumers’ Checkbook top rating for quality. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Vassar College and graduated magna cum laude from The University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her residency in family practice at Carolinas Medical Center. In 2013 she became a diplomate to the American Academy of Integrative Holistic Medicine.
She uses an integrated, holistic approach in the treatment of families in the prevention and management of chronic diseases. She also specializes in the care of adolescents and the treatment of eating and weight disorders. She sees patients ages 6 and older.
She works collaboratively with an acupuncturist, a yoga instructor, therapists and a nutritionist to bring her patients evidence based wellness care. Her patients also have access to classes in Tai Chi, Qigong and mindfulness practices. She teaches collaborative workshops in disease management and prevention.
Interested in supporting good health, she focuses on the life habits that help keep people active and healthy. She believes the best medicine is evidence based and focuses on the treatment of the whole person, mind, body and spirit.
She brings with her years of experience in the medical management and treatment of eating disorders. Professionally, Dr. Weaver has presented research on nutrition, pediatric obesity and diabetes at conferences such as the National CDC Diabetes Conference.
