About Janice Speer, FNP-BC

Janice Speer, FNP-BC practices family medicine at Weaver Wellness Care in Herndon, Virginia. Besides her six years of experience as a family medicine nurse practitioner, Janice served as a registered nurse in the ICU and ER for 17 years.

Janice brings a breadth of wellness expertise to her patients. Janice earned her master’s degree from the George Washington University Collaborative Nurse Practitioner Program at George Mason University. She’s board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

Janice spent over 20 years as a military wife, living all over the US and Europe. During that time, she put her special heart for volunteering to use.

While stationed in Georgia, Janice volunteered at the Sexual Assault Resource Center as a sexual assault nurse examiner. During her time in Germany, she volunteered for the Red Cross, providing care for local military and war-wounded patients.

Currently, Janice volunteers for Midwives for Haiti, making frequent trips to care for men, women, and children who don’t have access to adequate healthcare.

Janice lives with her husband and three cats in Nova. She has one grown son, who works as a musician in Nashville, Tennessee. Janice loves reading almost as much as she loves to travel, and she and her husband plan trips all over the country to see their favorite bands.
